We're back after a great week at the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show fresh with perspective on upcoming kitchen trends! Now let's recap what's been happening recently in the industry: China Challenges US Tariffs on Chinese Imports Earlier this week Chinese representatives met with the World Trade Organization to begin the process of legally challenging the US tariffs on Chinese imports. China claims that the imports are a "blatant breach of the United States' obligations under WTO agreements and is posing a systematic challenge to the multilateral trading system." Did you know the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association offers an  online course  for architects, designers and anyone who would like to learn more about our certification programs for residential kitchen and bathroom cabinets? Check out what’s been happening since our last update: Results of Trade Talks with China Last week the U.S. and China concluded three days of trade talks. According to Reuters, here are a few details from those meetings: During the three days of talks, the U.S. and China made progress on several issues such as: additional Chinese purchases of U.S. goods and services and opening China's markets further to American capital There is disagreement on Chinese structural reforms that the Trump administration is demanding to stop alleged theft and forced transfer of U.S. technology China is keen to put an end to its trade dispute with the United States but will not make any ‘unreasonable concessions’ and any agreement must involve compromise on both sides. Since 1955, the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association has advocated on behalf of the cabinet industry and our members to help them protect their businesses. We know the industry because we are the voice of the industry. We created this video to show all of the ways that KCMA works on behalf of our members, and the industry as a whole. KCMA is on the front lines, representing the cabinet manufacturing industry on Capitol Hill and with Federal agencies.  We strive to influence regulatory and legislative issues that could have far reaching impacts on our members and the industry as a whole. KCMA regularly works on issues including but not limited to: formaldehyde, trade policy, worker safety, accurate product labeling, wood dust limits, labor shortages and many more.
