CONGRATULATIONS TO THE WOODWORKING NETWORK 40 UNDER 40 HONOREES
Earlier this week Woodworking Network announced the 2019 Class of 40 Under 40 Honorees. This award celebrates the next generation of industry professionals who make an impact on wood products manufacturing in North America.
KCMA is proud to see several members once again appearing on the list:

Safety in the workplace is critical, especially in a manufacturing environment. And while most companies have extensive resources for reducing injuries and incidents, safety performance at many organizations can plateau after an initial phase of improvement according to a recent piece from McKinsey & Company.
According the the article, this plateau occurs when not enough attention is paid to the underlying employee mind-sets that shape personal safety behaviors:

- Sales of new single-family houses in April fell 6.9% from March to seasonally adjusted annual rate of 673,000
- New durable goods orders fell for the second time in the past three months - down 2.1% compared to April
- The IHS Markit Flash US Marketing PMI dropped from 52.6 in April to 50.6 in May, the weakest pace of growth since September 2009
